Living to music

Greg Wilson is encouraging people to listen to music over at his blog, nothing original about that you might be thinking, but the way he is going about it is.  He’s asking people to turn off the distractions of modern life, and listen to a selected album from start to finish, and absorb the true beauty of the music in a perfect listening environment.  The first album he chose was Marvin Gaye’s masterpiece ‘What’s Going On’, he also chose an exact time to listen to it, and a set of guidelines for the listening process.  The result was a unified experience for a number of like minded souls who can then connect with each other back on his blog, and share their thoughts on not just the amazing music, but the whole experiment of listening in the set conditions.  It’s no secret that we love Greg at Redux (he did our first release and named the label!), but the man has been a great inspiration to us for a long time now, and we’ll be checking his site for his next album suggestion and joining in.
